MS Tirol

The motor ship „Tirol“ was built by the “ÖSWAG” shipyard in Linz in 1994. In order to be the replacement for the old “Stadt Innsbruck” it was put in commission in 1995.
The ship which is approved for 600 passengers is furthermore handicapped accessible and offers on-board catering.

In 2012/2013 after nearly 2 decades the ships engines were exchanged and in 2014/2015 it got completely renovated from the in- and outside.
Panoramic windows are offering a great view across the lake and the surrounding mountains.

Inside the ship one can find tyrolean cosiness paired with tyrolean art and most  modern ship-technology. The “heart of the ship” is formed by the main stairs to the upper deck.
It was designed and built by the tyrolean artist Manfred Hörl and it is showing us the “stairs above the waterfall”.

Further art accents were set by the sculptur and artist Christian Mayr from Mutters.
Therefore the MS Tirol is a worthy representative of Tyrol and its largest lake.
